The newly built Genghis Khan civil airport is a domestic feeder airport with 4C grade aircraft movement area, kinds of aircrafts including B737, A320 and EMB-145 are deployed here. It is planned to open routes to the Beijing, Huhhot, Hailar, Manzhouli and Mohe. Upon completion, it will guarantee the tourism as well as business and official business to Zhalantun and its surrounding areas, also the disaster relief and emergency. It cannot only meet the requirements of national defense, but also suffices general aviation. The total investment of project is expected 66 million USD. There will be 300,000 passenger throughput and 1,400 tons cargo throughput in targeted year (2020).
The construction will last two years, the main construction of the project includes a 2500m long and 45m wide runway, a vertical linking taxiway, a 5000m2 terminal complete with public supporting utility including supply of power, water and oil.
The new airport project is now fully under construction, the airfield lighting installation is undertaken by Inner Mongolia Electric Power Transmission and Transformation Co., Ltd. All the airfield lighting fittings are designated to use AIRSAFE by the airport, in total number of about 500 sets which includes wind cones, PAPIs, sequenced flashing lighting systems, approach lights and runway center-line lights. Now the project has entered the stage of lighting fixtures installation.
This is the first time for Airsafe’s products to be applied in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Airsafe sent technicians to the scene for site construction in order to guarantee the smooth installation. Especially the key points of products’ debugging process are demonstrated to the Inner Mongolia Electric Power Transmission and Transformation Co., Ltd. Both parties also exchange ideas on other problems of the products and achieve the expected effect.
