The construction plan of new airport in Beijing has been determined at present, according to an official from Beijing Development and Reform Commission on 9. June. The relevant examination and approval procedures shall be fulfilled and the project will start as soon as possible in the first half of 2014. The main part of project is expected to be finished in 2017 and to be put into use in 2018.
The total area of the new airport of Beijing is about 3031.9 hectares. The air traffic control project of the new airport covers air traffic control, weather and communication, comprehensive support in the airfield along with radar station, VHF remote station and navigation facilities off the airfield. The new airport will be also equipped with facilities including oil depot with 8×20000m³ storage tank, apron oil filling pipes, gas station for aviation and vehicles as well as production scheduling command centre .
