Since June 2013, the central runway began to be in progress of maintenance of runway pavement base and lights after sufficient preparation of technical solutions

As the asphalt pavement of Capital Airport’s central runway approaching its designed working life, it is found damaged base along with damaged pavement pits at the south end of central runway. In order to guarantee flight security, the BCIA started the overhaul project of central runway. The total coverage of project is 6000㎡. Due to the non-stop flight construction, the BCIA related units rationally allocate human and material resources and control construction time strictly through careful research and precise deployment, in order to ensure central runway to open for navigation each day and avoid impact of construction on flights normal operation as far as possible. It takes finally only 29 days to finish the construction. Through the project, the pavement condition has been improved greatly. Thus, Hidden danger is eradicated effectively, and normal operation of flights is assured.
