Kunming Xiaoshao International Airport is located in Kunming, Yunnan, China. It is about 25 km east of metropolitan Kunming. The new Kunming airport is a major construction project for China’s West Development Strategy. As the fourth largest airport in the country, the new Kunming airport will be built at a cost of more than 23 billion RMB.In 2020,the airport is expected to handle 38 million passengers,950,000 tons of air freight, and 303,000 traffic movements. It will also become China’s main hub for Southeast Asia and South Asia. Airsafe won the third and fourth tenders of the new airport project. Meanwhile, the company will also provide two new runways with light fixtures, including 8,000 light fixtures, and 500 new LED guidance signs. At present, the new airport is under construction, which is expected to be done in late 2011. At that time, the Airsafe light fixtures will be used by these two runways.
