The 2nd. Expansion Project of Zhengzhou Xinzheng Int'l Airport was approved by the National Development and Reform Commission on 21. Nov. 2011. The project was designed according to 29 million passenger throughput and half million tons cargo throughput in 2020 with the total investment of 13.64 billion RMB. It is expected that the project will be completed at the end of 2015 and the airport will become a modern comprehensive transport hub. |

Zhengzhou Xinzheng Int'l Airport is short for Xinzheng Airport, which is located 25km southeast
to Zhengzhou city centre. The airport was open to navigation in 1997, and was also defined as
"one of national eight regional airline hubs" by CAAC. The volume of air cargo at the airport has
increased very fast and is building an air silk road which connects to the world.
