According to the German website “Die Welt”, the biggest airport in the world is now being built in Beijing with amazing “Chinese speed”, which will be completed in 40 months after it was started. Airports in china are drawing wide attention from overseas media.
 
 “It’s a hard campaign, but we have won the first battle.”, said a director of this new airport project at the construction site 50 kilometers south from the center of Beijing. The biggest civil airport worldwide is going to be completed in Daxing district of Beijing city. The construction area covers 28 hectares in total, equal to the area of 40 football fields. Apart from this, a plenty of land is preserved in case of future extension of the airport.
 
The French architecture firm ADP and the British star architect Zaha Hadid won the bid in the design of the airport. Based on their design project, the five corridors connecting the area of departure and arrival and the boarding gate are just like the five angles of a starfish. All the boarding gates are within the distance of eight-minute walking. Seen from the sky, this orange airport just resembles a starfish.
