On April 23, 2013, the National Development and Reform Commission formally approved the Chongqing Airport East Terminal expansion project feasibility study report. As the basic, functional and strategic project of the comprehensive transportation hub in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River in Chongqing during the 12th Five-Year Plan period, it is also the key project of the national "Twelfth Five-Year" traffic plan. The East Terminal Area and the Third Runway Project of Jiangbei Airport are designed according to the target at passenger throughput of 45 million, cargo throughput of 1.1 million tons and 370,000 flights in 2020. |
