PAPI-LED will lead the upgrading of precision approach path indicator

Airsafe’s precision approach path indicator PAPI-300, which uses halogen lamp, has always been famous in the industry for its extremely horizontal straight red and white transition line, it not only leads the Chinese market in performance and service advantage, but also exports to overseas markets with outstanding performance.
 
However, the short life of the halogen lamp is the most inevitable shortcoming in the use of precision approach path indicators, this includes the risk of operational failure and expensive maintenance costs. It is a general trend to use LED as the light source of the precision approach path indicator to replace the traditional type.
 
Research and development after years of unremitting efforts, PAPI-LED of Airsafe has obtained the special equipment announcement issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) in August 2019, and began to promote the use of LED precision approach path indicators to customers. The more precise optical design of PAPI-LED obtains a better horizontal straight red and white transition line, and the compact structure design enhances the wind resistance of the lighting fixture. The automatic condensation elimination device solves the common problem caused by front glass condensation of PAPI.
 
Among the four sets of PAPI systems in Chengdu Tianfu International Airport in China, one PAPI-LED system is attempted. During the flight calibration, the pilot was astonished by the bright red and white color of PAPI-LED and the narrow red-white intersection area that was almost imperceptible. They have shown great admiration after being informed by the latest development of Airsafe.
 
As of December 2020, Airsafe has provided 6 sets of PAPI-LED systems to four airports, including Chengdu Tianfu International Airport, which has won unanimous praise from users. In 2021, Airsafe will vigorously promote the application of PAPI-LED and lead the upgrading of PAPI among the global market.
