Rapid exit taxiway indicator lights are used in the rapid exit taxiway indicator system, set at prescribed distances along one side of the runway centerline to give a landing aircraft advance notice that it is approaching a rapid exit taxiway. The continuous yellow light signal helps pilots judge the direction and distance of the exit and adjust roll-out speed accordingly, which improves the efficiency of runway exits.
