Taxiway edge lights mark the boundary of a taxiway, apron or holding bay. They are set along the edge of the area concerned and give omnidirectional blue light. A clear boundary outline helps pilots identify the usable taxiing area, keeps aircraft from running off the pavement, and gives continuous guidance for ground operations.
