In-pavement Approach Side Row Light (12-inch)

Approach side row lights are used in the side rows of a precision approach lighting system, normally set on both sides of the approach centerline to establish a clear lateral position reference for the aircraft. They work with the approach centerline and crossbar lights to help pilots judge where the aircraft is relative to the runway centerline, and they strengthen recognition of the approach lighting pattern in low visibility. The fixture uses a matched light source and a light distribution designed for the application; its photometric performance is aligned with the requirements of the corresponding airfield lighting system, giving airport operations a steady, clear and easily identified visual signal.
