Runway Centerline Light (Type II, 8-inch)

Runway centerline lights (Type II) are used in the runway centerline lighting system, set along the runway centerline to give aircraft continuous directional guidance during takeoff, landing and the roll along the runway. The fixtures form a clear runway center reference that helps pilots hold the correct heading at night and in low visibility and identify the remaining section of runway. The fixture uses a matched light source and a light distribution designed for the application; its photometric performance is aligned with the requirements of the corresponding airfield lighting system, giving airport operations a steady, clear and easily identified visual signal.
