In-pavement Approach Centerline and Crossbar Light (12-inch)

Approach lights, both centerline and crossbar, are used in the airport approach lighting system, set along the extended runway centerline or in crossbar positions to give aircraft clear approach direction and position guidance at night and in low visibility. The continuous, conspicuous light signal helps pilots establish and hold the correct approach path and identify the runway threshold and the direction of the centerline, improving visual judgment during the final approach. The fixture uses a matched light source and a light distribution designed for the application; its photometric performance is aligned with the requirements of the corresponding airfield lighting system, giving airport operations a steady, clear and easily identified visual signal.
