The Configuration A high-intensity runway guard light is used where a taxiway crosses a runway or at the runway-holding position; its alternately flashing yellow light warns aircraft and vehicles that they are about to enter an active runway. The conspicuous warning signal makes the runway entrance easier to recognize in difficult weather, at night and in low visibility, and lowers the risk of a runway incursion. The fixture uses an LED light source and a light distribution designed for the application; its photometric performance is aligned with the requirements of the corresponding airfield lighting system, giving airport operations a steady, clear and easily identified visual signal.

Features

  • The serialized design of lighting fixtures combined with modular design of components effectively reduce the inventory of spare parts.
  • Compact structure, with small windward area and strong wind resistance capability.
  • Compatible with a levelling tool for installation and directional calibration.
  • Low energy LED light source, with a comprehensive lifespan of not less than 100,000 hours and light attenuation is less than 30%.
  • The dimming curve complies with the requirements of FAA EB67, and the dimming characteristics of the luminaire are similar to those of traditional halogen light source luminaires.
  • The integrated surge protection device features high surge withstand capability, compliant with FAA EB67. It has successfully undergone 1.2/50μs - 8/20μs combination wave testing per ANSI/IEEE C62.41, withstanding 10kV peak open-circuit voltage and 5kA peak short-circuit current surges.
  • The overall degrees of protection is IP67.
  • Optional fault detection function, which can achieve light fault open circuit in case of light source or drive failure.
