The final approach and take-off area (FATO) light marks the boundary or key positions of the FATO of a heliport, outlining the area for helicopters on approach, on take-off and while hovering. A continuous, clear line of lights helps pilots make out the extent, the direction and the usable part of the FATO at night and in low visibility. The fixture uses an LED light source and a light distribution designed for the application; its photometric performance is aligned with the requirements of the corresponding airfield lighting system, giving airport operations a steady, clear and easily identified visual signal.
